Please note that it is mandatory to bring your NHS pregnancy notes containing your previous baseline scans during your appointment if you have had one. Failure to do so we won’t be able to perform your pregnancy scan, and as a result your appointment will be re-scheduled.

A. Yes, you can upgrade your pre-booked appointment to 4D/5D baby scan anytime before completion of your pre-booked scan.

A. Please contact us asap we shall try our best to accommodate you, but you may have to wait as the other appointments after you can be impacted significantly due to the fully booked clinics.

Although we try our best to complete the scan on the same day however, in some cases, we may not be able to do the main purpose of the scan due to baby is in a tricky position, or it could be something else like too much bowel gas that can cloud the ultrasound picture, particularly in pregnancy related scans. If that happens, we’ll book you a rescan at no extra cost in order to complete the main purpose. You may find the main purpose on the scan page you will book or have already booked.

You will get your full refund you paid for booking of your scan appointment if you cancel or reschedule it by giving us minimum 48 hours’ notice however this timescale is 24 hours for those who booked the same day appointment. Please read our cancellation and reschedule policies in terms & conditions which can be found on our website.

A. Yes, you can book our services. However, these scans are not the substitute of medical advice. We always recommend to all our guests, who have been experiencing these or other symptoms that require an urgent medical attention, to either contact your GP or midwife as soon as possible or visit to your nearest A & E as soon as possible as this situation can be a medical emergency.

A. A detailed written report with related images will be given to you after completion of your scan.

If any abnormality or pathology is revealed during the scan, our performing sonographer would advise on your report accordingly as well as to your GP, midwife or any concern health professional who have referred you to Elite Community Ultrasound.

A. You will be given a written report along with relevant images. However, in case our experienced sonographer finds something untoward they will discuss it with you, and we can send the report to your registered GP or midwife if you want.

A. The duration of a single scan is usually 10 – 15 minutes and sometimes can take up to 20 minutes depends on the position and visibility of your unborn baby and complexity of scan.

A. The ultrasound itself doesn’t cause any pain and you won’t feel anything other than the sensor being applied to your skin. However, sometime under-lying issues can cause discomfort such as inflammation in pelvic cavity. Furthermore, transvaginal (internal) scan can give a slight discomfort due to tilting the probe.

A. Yes, you can bring up to two companions. However, the number might vary for 4D/5D baby scans.

A. No, there is no known risk of having this examination. However, certain factors or conditions may interfere with the results of the test. These include high BMI and bowel gas.
