The ultrasound itself doesn’t cause any pain and you won’t feel anything other than the sensor being applied to your skin. However, sometime under-lying issues can cause discomfort such as inflammation in pelvic cavity. Furthermore, transvaginal (internal) scan can give a slight discomfort due to tilting the probe.

The duration of a single scan is usually 10 – 15 minutes and sometimes can take up to 20 minutes depends on the visibility of organs and complexity of scan.

You will be given a provisional verbal report of your result. After that, you can go home or go back to work as needed. You also can resume eating, drinking or emptying bladder and other routine activities as normal if you were told to fast for at least 06 hours and/or having full bladder under your booked scan preparation. Later on, the radiologist/sonographer will review the images and draw up a report of the results. The encrypted final digital report along with relevant images will be sent to your registered email address safely. However, we also can send the same to your registered GP or other healthcare professional if you want.

If any abnormality or pathology is revealed during the scan, our performing radiologist or sonographer would advise on your report as well as to your fertility treatment provider or any concern health professional who have referred you to Elite Community Ultrasound.

A provisional verbal report will be given to you after the completion of your scan. However, you will get your comprehensive digital report and related images to your registered email within 24h – 48hr.
