The ultrasound itself doesn’t cause any pain and you won’t feel anything other than the sensor being applied to your skin. Ultrasounds are often used to try and identify the cause of a patient’s health problems they have been experiencing. The duration of a single scan is usually 10 – 15 minutes and sometimes can take up to 20 minutes depends on the visibility of organs and complexity of scan.
You will be given a provisional verbal report of your result. After that, you can go home or go back to work as needed. You also can resume eating, drinking or emptying bladder and other routine activities as normal if you were told to fast for at least 06hours and/or having full bladder under your booked scan preparation.
