Description
Elite Community Ultrasound (ECU) is delighted to offer this comprehensive Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) Doppler scan for those who are 16years or above and want to have an urgent scan for excluding the blood clots in the large deep veins.
A Deep Vein Doppler ultrasound is a non-invasive medical diagnostic imaging to check the presence of thrombus (blood clots) and blood flow in the large veins in the arms or legs. This scan also looks at superficial veins in the arms or legs if there are any blockage due to blood clots. However, the occurrence of blood clots is more common in the legs. This scan includes the assessment of femoral veins, sapheno-femoral junction, popliteal veins, sapheno-popliteal junction, and calf veins in your legs. It can help your healthcare professional to determine an immediate treatment in various conditions in your peripheral veins.
The blood clots can be a medical emergency as they can reach into the lungs and can cause pulmonary embolism which can be life threating.
The most common conditions of the deep veins in the arms or legs can be:
Blood Clot (thrombus) in deep vein.
Thrombophlebitis.
