This scan includes the detailed examination of only endometrium (womb lining) however, can be upgraded to fertility pelvic scan at any time until the completion of endometrial thickness scan.

A detailed, specific and targeted assessment of endometrium (womb lining) would be carried out by our specialist/consultant sonographer by performing two methods: transabdominal (through the tummy) and transvaginal/internal (through the vagina).

This scan is generally performed in early days (between 3rd and 5th day) of menstrual cycle (periods) for proper assessment of reproductive organs, especially endometrial (womb) lining and ovaries.

Endometrial (womb lining) thickness scan can be used to test for a variety of conditions such as:

  • Suspected polyps in endometrial cavity and endometrial hyperplasia.
  • Endometrial/uterine synechiae (adhesions).
