Description

Elite Community Ultrasound (ECU) is delighted to offer this comprehensive scan for man and woman who are 16 years or above and do not want to wait for weeks for finding an answer.

Hernia ultrasound is a non-invasive medical imaging to check the weakened part of the abdominal wall muscle and any defect/tear from where the internal organs are pushing the fat or bowel loops from inside your abdominal cavity.

When an internal part of your body pushes through a weak spot in the muscle or tissue wall, it’s called a hernia. It usually happens between the chest and hips. Most of the time, it doesn’t cause any or even very little symptoms, but you might see a lump or swelling in your abdomen or groin. It usually goes away when you lie down, but if you’re coughing or straining, it could show up.

The most common type of hernia in men and women can be Epigastric, Umbilical (belly button), Para-umbilical (around the belly button) and Inguinal in the groin (at the top of the inner thigh).

The most common reasons for having this scan:

-Swelling, soft, or hard lump in your abdomen (belly/tummy) anywhere between the chest and hips/groin.
-Painful/tender lump/swelling in your abdominal wall and/or groin between the chest and hips.
– Sometimes symptoms get worse and if you experience sudden, intense pain, feeling sick, having trouble pooing, or passing wind, it could be a sign that your hernia is getting stiff or tender, and can’t push it back. For more information, and when and how to seek medical advice in case your symptoms get worse/intense, please visit: Hernia – NHS (www.nhs.uk).

Preparation: No preparation is required.
