The full body ultrasound scan is a non-invasive, painless and radiation-free medical imaging to check the organs and their structures inside your body. This includes thyroid/neck including carotid arteries (Doppler scan), liver, gallbladder, pancreas, bile duct, spleen, kidneys, aorta, bladder, prostate, and seminal vesicles, testes/scrotum.

Q. What preparation do I need for upper abdominal scan?
A. You are required to have at least 06 hours fasting and to drink two pints of water at least an hour before your scan appointment for obtaining an adequate result.
Q. What kind of clothing do I need to wear for this scan?
A. There is no specific requirement of clothing for undergoing this scan. Avoid wearing high-neck clothing and neck jewellery. However. wearing loose and two-piece cloths are advisable.
Q. What happens if I have eaten before the appointment?
A. Your scan will still be attempted, however may interfere with the results of the test.
Q. What happens if I forgot to drink water or don’t have required full bladder at the time of scanning?

Q. What happens during the full body scan.
A. You will be asked to lie down on the scan couch(bed) comfortably. Our well qualified experienced specialist ultrasound Practitioner/Sonographer or Consultant Radiologist will put water-based gel on your whole tummy. Thereafter, they examine all included organs by placing the transducer (camera) over the gel on your whole belly.
Q. What is the duration of the scan?
A. The duration of the scan is usually 50 – 75 minutes and sometimes can take up to 100 minutes depends on the visibility of organs and complexity of scan.
