This includes thyroid/neck including carotid arteries (Doppler scan), liver, gallbladder, pancreas, bile duct, spleen, kidneys, abdominal aorta, bladder, uterus, ovaries, cervix adnexa, and pouch of Douglas (POD)/cul-de-sac including transabdominal & transvaginal methods of pelvic examination.

Elite Community Ultrasound (ECU) is pleased to provide a comprehensive health scan for women aged 16 and above seeking an extensive assessment of their well-being.

The full body ultrasound scan is a non-invasive, painless, and radiation-free medical imaging to check the organs and their structures inside your body. This includes thyroid/neck including carotid arteries (Doppler scan), liver, gallbladder, pancreas, bile duct, spleen, kidneys, abdominal aorta, bladder, uterus, ovaries, cervix adnexa, and pouch of Douglas (POD)/cul-de-sac including transabdominal & transvaginal methods of pelvic examination.

As full body scan is the combination of multiple scans (Neck/thyroid scan including Carotid artery Doppler scan, Women Abdomen and Pelvic scan including transvaginal method of pelvic examination.

  • What preparation do I need for this scan?
  • You are required to have at least 06 hours fasting and to drink two pints of water at least an hour before your scan appointment for obtaining an adequate result.
  • What kind of clothing do I need to wear for this scan?
  • There is no specific requirement of clothing for undergoing this scan. Avoid wearing high neck clothes and neck jewellery. However. wearing loose and two-piece cloths are advisable.
  • What happens if I have eaten before the appointment?
  • Your scan will still be attempted, however may interfere with the results of the test.
  • What happens if I forgot to drink water or don’t have the required full bladder at the time of scanning?
  • Your scan will still be attempted, however may interfere with the results of the bladder test as transvaginal pelvic scan is included and doesn’t require full bladder.
  • What happens during the full body scan.
  • You will be asked to lie down on the scan couch (bed) comfortably. Our well qualified experienced specialist ultrasound Practitioner/Sonographer or Consultant Radiologist will put water-based gel on your whole belly, both sides of tummy and/or both sides of the back. Thereafter, they examine all included organs by placing the transducer (camera) over the gel on all relevant areas. Thereafter, the included transvaginal (internal) scan will be discussed with you and cannot be proceeded without your consent.
  • What is the duration of the scan?
  • The duration of the scan is usually 50 – 75 minutes and sometimes can take up to 100 minutes depends on the visibility of organs and complexity of scan.
